The Sarasota Area Playwrights Society aims to provide opportunities for local playwrights to have their plays read, discussed, critiqued and, thereby, improved.

SAPS was founded in 2007 by George Loukides. SAPS has grown from a small group of actors and playwrights to 70+ members. Through weekly workshops, monthly meetings and public readings our playwrights are inspired to write and make their plays better. Our members have won local and nationwide contests and have had their plays performed throughout the United States.
